Thunderhawk is the heroic vehicle of Matt Trakker, Thunderhawk is a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 that transforms into a jet fighter. Thunderhawk is used by Matt both privately and in combat.
The toy contained Matt Trakker with his Spectrum mask. In the first wave of toys, in the US, was the short version of the mask, from the second wave the long version. From the boxes you can see which version was in which box. See further down.
Also in the first wave Thunderhawk was not yet licensed as a Camaro, but simply a sports car. Only from the second wave it officially became a Camaro.
Thunderhawk toy came with licensed "Goodyear" rubber tires.
The design of Thunderhawk shows very much from which time the design comes. So Thunderhawk has a rear spoiler, a sitepipe exhaust and funky decals with grid pattern and yellow lightning.
Chrome could not be missing in the 80s, of course, and so the sidepipe exhaust and rims are finished in chrome. Although Thunderhawk has turned out a bit clunky, nevertheless, the toy has numerous details. For example, the dashboard is rich in detail.
By pressing the button in the middle of the roof, the toy turns into a jet fighter.
The doors then flip up like gullwing doors. The chrome colored sitepipes could be pulled out of the doors. This made the wings longer, and they served as weapons.
At the same time, the rear spoiler and the rear bumper speeds up. Under the bumper, the nozzles of the jet engine come to light.
When the rear nozzles were pressed, 2 small bombs were dropped from the floor of the vehicle. These two bombs were missing from the second wave in Germany, as no weapons were allowed to be sold with the toys.
The interior had seat belts on both seats to hold the figures in place during "flight" to prevent them from falling out of the open doors.
Unlike many other vehicles, Thunderhawk does not have a connection for a fuel hose.

Differences of the boxes
The boxes had some differences in different countries, even within the same country. In the same country there were changes in different years. The EU boxes are completely different from the boxes from the other countries. So you have no back on which the toy is explained, it is just the same site as the front, only with different languages. You can see this in the boxes section. All other differences follow now. Attached are the differences for the Thunderhawk boxes.

US Box
The artwork of the box is very different from the EU box. The outfit including Spectrum looks different, the decals of Thunderhawk do not look like on the toy, but rather like in the cartoon, the metal looks rather gray. Bombs and fire can be seen on the US box. Click to enlarge
