M.A.S.K. has its headquarters at a gas station in Boulder Hill. Boulder Hill Gas works as a functional gas station, complete with gas pumps and a repair garage. Buddie "Clutch" Hawks, M.A.S.K. agent in charge of upkeep on the fleet of transforming vehicles, also maintains the gas station's cover as a working facility. If under attack, the gas station has offensive and defensive transformation abilities, including freeze cannons and armor plating.

Inside, M.A.S.K.'s headquarters is far from ordinary; M.A.S.K.'s vehicles are stored inside, as well as theenergizing device that powers the team's masks. Matt Trakker has a subterranean transportation system that shuttles him between his mansion and M.A.S.K. headquarters. All this is supplemented by an incredibly powerful computer.

The MASK energy room is one of the central elements of the first MASK episodes.

Hidden deep in Boulder Hill, the energy room consists of two parts. The room where the M.A.S.K. agents come together to discuss the mission, and the actual energy room, also called the mask room.

The table and chairs in the energy room are on a huge platform, which rises up following the meeting.

Once the platform has moved up, it reaches the mask room where the masks will be charged for the mission.

The masks are moved out of the ceiling with the energizing device. The energizing device can hold a maximum of 8 masks.

After the energizing device was mopved out of the ceiling, the arms fold out and an energy beam flows through them, into the masks. With this, the masks are then charged for the mission, and can be used.

In the course of the episodes, the energy room always looks different. He has several designs.

The M.A.S.K. Computer is housed at both Matt Trakker's mansion and at Boulder Hill. Trakker often uses voice commands to ask the computer to analyse objects and photographs and has programmed the computer to select the most suitable M.A.S.K. agents for each mission.

Occasionally, Trakker uses a portable version housed in a suitcase that has the same capabilities.

The computer is also connected to all MASK vehicles. So Matt uses it regularly in Thunderhawk to let the computer choose the best agents for the mission.

Every MASK agent had it, every fan wanted it, the iconic MASK watch.

With the watch, today we would say smartwatch, the agents were informed that they were selected by the M.A.S.K. computer for a mission.

A flashing mask, similar to Matt's Ultra Flash mask, appeared in the watch's display, signaling to the agents that they were needed.

These left thereupon everything and drop, and hurried to the mission.

The watch was silver / red with a metal bracelet.

The Magma Mole was one of V.E.N.O.M most dangerous and powerful vehicles. It was constructed using the very rare Endurium alloy and piloted by Miles Mayhem himself.

Equiped with three enormous drills, the Magma Mole could bore it's way through solid rock and deep underground. Mayhem used the Magma Mole to cause havoc in Japan. First, to demonstrate the power of the machine, he drilled a large hole underground that caused water to flood from and form a new salt-lake complete with a geyser.

After that, Mayhem contacted the Japanese Prime Minister and gave him 12 hours to meet his demands. If not met, Mayhem threatened to use the Magma Mole to make Mount Fuji erupt, and cause Tokyo to be completely destroyed.

The Magma Mole needed power cells to replenish it's power. Several V.E.N.O.M. agents as well as at least two V.E.N.O.M. Henchmen were needed to install these cells so that the Magma Mole could return to full power.

When the Japanese Government did not contact V.E.N.O.M. in time, Mayhem set the Magma Mole on an automatic course into Mount Fuji. As soon as it would hit molten magma, the biggest volcano eruption in history would occur. Apparently Mayhem was prepared to lose the Magma Mole in the destruction, as he exited the Mole and called Switchblade by remote control (overriding the pilot controls that were being used by Vanessa Warfield at the time) to pick him up. Before leaving Mayhem quipped that the fearless leader of M.A.S.K. was on his way to the center of the earth.

Matt Trakker entered the Magma Mole cockpit and managed to stop it in it's tracks by using ultra-sonic vibrations from his Spectrum mask. However, he was already over a mile and a half down into the earth and had no way to get back. Buddy Hawks connected his Penetrator mask to the generator of his vehicle Firecracker so he could drive the vehicle through solid rock. Hawks managed to rescue Trakker just in time before the Magma Mole exploded.

"I'm about to have him" Vanessa must be thinking in the episode "The Magma Mole" as she flies Switchblade, and activates the targeting device to take Condor out of the sky.

But what is that? Switchblade is getting completely out of control. What's going on here?

Miles Mayhem! Using his remote control for Switchblade, he takes control and lands Switchblade.

The remote control was already seen in 2 previous episodes. In "The deathstone" Cliff Dagger controls Switchblade, which is disguised as a UFO. In "The Star Chariot" Miles gets Switchblade to escape with the remote control.

There are 2 versions of the remote control. In the first two episodes it is rather a plain box, in "The Magma Mole" it looks like a remote control of an RC car.

Endurium was an extremely rare element. All known quantities had recently been stolen by Sly Rax of V.E.N.O.M.

The evil organization led by Miles Mayhem then used the Endurium in the construction of a powerful drilling machine named the Magma Mole. For it's first demonstration, Mayhem used the Magma Mole to drill an enormous hole in the ground in Japan, causing a geyser to erupt from the earth and form a new salt-water lake.

When Matt Trakker and Bruce Sato used special diving equipment to investigate the salt water lake, they found several tiny fragments of Endurium and made the connection to the theft by Rax. This led Trakker to assemble a team of M.A.S.K. agents.

Summary of The Magma Mole

Location of the episode*: Tokyo, Japan

Short summery*: V.E.N.O.M. uses a mole machine to drill into the Earth which threatens Tokyo with devastating floods and an eruption of Mount Fuji.

Safety tip*
Scott asks his father to check how deep a salt water lake is before he dives in himself.

Facts worth knowing about The Magma Mole

Particularly in this episode*:

•One of very few episodes in which Thunderhawk is selected by the M.A.S.K. computer, and is seen during agent selection
Gloria Baker is assigned as Thunderhawk's co-pilot during this mission.
Vanessa Warfield pilots Switchblade during this mission.
•The safety tip features the same lesson as the one used previously in Highway to Terror.

Small mistakes in the episode*:

•When the M.A.S.K. computer reports the Endurium theft, it mentions there is only one auto-surveillance photo of the suspect available, yet manages to show three different angles of the scene.
Gloria is shown in her day-job instructing an elderly man how to drive. The man's hat disappears in one shot, then returns in the next. Further more, in the shot after that, the colors of his coat and hat have changed.
Matt and Bruce are already in Japan when Matt decides to call in a team of M.A.S.K. agents. But both can be spotted at Boulder Hill during the Mask energizing scene before the rest of the team joins them in Japan.
•When Miles Mayhem uses his Viper mask, he mispronounces it's name as 'Sniper'.
•Near the end, Gloria is so glad to see Matt is alive that she throws her Aura mask straight up into the air. When it cuts to a wide shot, it is nowhere to be seen.
